Did you know there are pornographic materials available for students in the Bayport-Blue Point High School Library?

These books provide drawings of minors engaging in oral sex. The content also glorifies incest, graphic sex engaged in by minors as a young as 13 years old, and other inappropriate sexually explicit material.  

One of the pornographically laden books available in the BBP HS library entitled Gender Queer was highlighted in the attached article appearing in the NY Post and is presently on the shelves in our BBP schools.  The excerpts from the books available at BBP can also be viewed in the following Long Island Life and Politics article pages 7-11 and through this link (Viewer discretion is advised). 

After a few parents complained about this pornography, the school board conducted a review and determined that the books should stay on the shelves. 

If you think this type of sexually explicit, age-inappropriate pornography should not be made available to children in our school district, please contact us at uspopis@gmail.com        

We support adults of any gender or sexual orientation being able to do whatever they wish, but do not believe that age-inappropriate content should be available to children. 

This isn’t “book banning.”  We support these books being available for adults in the private marketplace. This is about proper vetting of the materials that children will have access to without parental permission.
